WEEK 4

Gary Holtzclaw shot a doe this weekend shown in the picture above. Shane Harness and Joey Nation hung the lights at the skinning pole which you can see in the picure with Gary. Also Butch Burrand, Terry Renfroe and Mike Baldwin put the tin around the sink and moved the deer harvest board from Pauls to the skinning area. The other picture is some of the Big Rack kids. Shane put them to work as the picture shows, but they love coming to deer camp just as much as the adults. See you next week.

Web site looks good, keep up the good work. I have been a member for 15yrs. and the club has come a long ways in those years. I do think the new changes in the last year has had the most effect on the direction in our goals to become a true trophy club.I also think some changes need to be made. In saying that here is my biggest concern.Last January we inquired some help from a Management person on how we can improve our club. The biggest thing he said was to eliminate all the 4-wheelers and extra traffic in the woods. On that recomindation we made a rules change and said no 4-wheelers unless retrieving a deer but then we turned around and increased the time and NOISE for planting.Big Rack is a hunting club not a "GUN CLUB",so I think we need to address this issue and stay the coarse on becoming a TROPHY HUNTING CLUB.We all agreed that scarifice was needed.Lets all do our part in becoming the best club we can be.

Thank you (and/or your wife....didn't you say at the meeting that she was handling the day to day duties of this ??) so, so much for getting this done. It is one of the best things to happen to the club in a long, long time!!! I think that this will add a degree of accountability to everyone who shoots a deer and also help those of us who can't be there every weekend see what is going on when we aren't there. I know it is probably a lot of work to make this happen but it is a great thing for the club and the members.
