OPENING WEEKEND RIFLE

Opening weekend is finally here and what a weekend. Sorry if you missed it but the deer where absolutely moving this weekend. We went from 7 to 21 deer in like a day and a half. Reminded me of the good old days when everybody was seeing deer and taking deer. My girl took one this weekend and deer were all over us. She could not get the scope on the first one or the second one but finally she got on the third one while other deer were around us. She shot that one then some more came out. Then there was Mr. Jimmy (aka Jimmy Roberts), he was not only seeing deer but shooting deer, he took 4 deer . When we get ready to thin down the herd Jimmy is the man to do it. I don't think he would even charge us anything. Anyway let me start this long list of disguise hunters. Above in order from top to bottom we have Brooke Black with her very first deer. Congratulations Brooke, ya'll didn't think that I was not going to put her first did you ? Then Keegan Moody with a doe and a button . Below we have John Philyaw who took a nice 9 pointer. It was a really pretty buck, his biggest ever. Congratulations John. We also had Mike Baldwin, Jody Parks, Dillion Brown, Terry Renfroe, David Presnell, Milo Parks, Madison Williams all taking a doe. Then you have Jimmy Roberts taking 3 does and a spike. Not only was the deer hunting great so was the barbecue lunch we had. We want to thank Mike Baldwin for making the stew and all who helped out and especially Shane Harness for all his hard work. He is the one that makes it all possible. Thank you Shane. We are off to a great start and look forward to an awesome season. If anyone has pictures and would like them on the blog, please email them to me. Also want to remind you of a few things. Turn the water off at shower house for sink and hose when not in use. If hose burst it will drain the well. Close all gates when leaving the woods each night. Fill out harvest sheets - all parts. Remember there is a second sheet for bucks to be scored. Hope you can all make it this weekend, see ya at the woods.
