THANKSGIVING

We had an excellent rut this year. QDMA seems to be making a difference, several nice bucks taken. Above we have Tristan Mixon who was the only one to take a buck this last weekend. Now I will get caught up with who shot what. Luke Mills took a doe and button, Larry Gardner shot a doe and a 8 pointer, Eric Mixion took two does, Ron Meckler, Austin Shaffer, Shane Harness all took does. Jeff Pasternak and Chuck Peters shot bucks. Both took 8 pointers. Paul Burdette also took a nice 8 pointer. Frank Newborn shot a 10 pointer, Jimmy Reed and Robby Williams took does. Then Mike Roberts shot a 7 pointer, then Tad Godrey, Rusty Boatwright, AC Godfrey, WL Boatwright, Jerry Hobbs, Mike Baldwin, John Philyaw and Sherri Pasternak all took does. Congratulations Sherri, it was her first deer ever. Katrina Boatwright took a button. That will catch us up for the season. If you were not listed this week than I had your picture on the blog previously. We had a great Thanksgiving lunch with fresh barbecue prepared by none other than Shane Harness, and the great stew was made by Mike Baldwin. As always thanks to Shane and Mike for a great job. We also gave out deer stats for last year. If you did not get a copy let me know and I can send you a copy. Most of you noticed we increased taken does by 61%, which is a step in the right direction. Better bucks showed up at the skinning pole this year. It would appear that our QDMA efforts are making a difference. We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and looking forward to some more hunting and a second rut. Also on December the 12th we will be having a fish fry for all those who want to attend.
