WEEK 6 & 7

Some more bucks came in the last 2 weeks. First above we have Nolan Kell with his big 7 pointer. We aged it at 4 1/2 years old, a mature buck, that is what we are after. Then we have Parker Hobbs with his 8 pointer and Hannah Reagan with a 10 pointer. Next would be Roger Petty with the 9 pointer shown in the field. Also Chuck Peters took an 8 pointer that we were able to age because we pulled the jaw bone and the buck was 2 1/2 years old. Also we have Kyle Biehl with his very first buck an 8 pointer, the brow tines are broke off. Congratulations Kyle on his first buck. We also had David Presnell, Rusty Boatwright, Katrina Boatwright, Eric Mixon, Paul Abbott, Terry Renfroe and Austin Shaffer all taking does. David Presnell actually took two does and we also had Jacob Harness taking his very first deer a button. Congratulations Jacob on your first deer. Next year all jaw bones will be pulled at the skinning pole and we will know the ages of all the bucks immediately. We hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. We had a great turnout for the annual meeting and barbecue, some pictures shown below. We thank everyone for filling out the questionnaire and we will take them into consideration for next years rules as we intensify the QDMA regulations. If you have not turned yours in please mail or give to Shane so your voice can be heard. We can not thank Shane enough (and anyone else that helped) for all the time and effort he puts forth on the annual barbecue. The deer movement has really slowed in the last couple of days, hopefully with the cool weather and full moon waning they will start to move again. Remember with the cold weather coming you need to drain your water lines before you leave. Also on December the 11th we will have a fish fry and need a head count on who is planning on attending, please let Shane know.Good luck and see ya at the woods.
